Unlike orders that are placed online, by mail, or by fax, phone orders present an additional costs - the time needed to take an order on the phone.
We've struggled with this issue a bit, as a typical phone order takes from 7-15 minutes or more, and especially for small orders, we simply have not been able to cover the cost.
We've thought about simply not taking orders by phone. The web site is very secure. Instead, we are trying out a new system, of having a phone order surcharge.
